Meet Rich

All my life I have been an athlete. Have been swimming since the age of 5 and was an elite level triathlete for many years. During that time I never ate well. I would go on 100 mile bike rides and hit McDonald's afterward, not thinking about what I was doing to myself. I had to stop competing do to knee and shoulder injuries about 10 years ago. I found myself depressed from not being able to do what I loved. I continued to workout in the gym and ride my bike sometimes, but I had lost my motivation. When I went to the gym I would just go through the motions without having some sort of goal, I was completely lost.
Over the years I started slacking, drinking too many beers and became not happy with the way I felt more than anything. I was not over weight by any means but I just felt tired and sluggish. So much so, that I was planning on going to the doctor to get a test for low testosterone.
I had watched the P90x infomercial about 10 times and had always thought it look interesting. (sort of the same way I got into doing Ironmans. Watched it one year on T.V. and knew I would get involved with that someday.) So I went out and bought it with the idea of trying something new. I thought that I would breeze right through it since I was a endurance athlete for 90% of my adult life. I was mistaken. It is hard but in a good way. You will never be able to complete all the moves the first week or maybe even the second and third week. But as long as you “try you best, forget the rest!” you will make huge improvements very fast.
The nutritional aspect of the plan was something I had never done before in my life and by far, the one thing I was missing. That alone is worth the price of admission! I felt 100% better in less then 2 months. I am not tired anymore or falling asleep at my desk. (hopefully no one from work is reading this now…haha)
With P90X, I have found something I am passionate about again and would love to share the way I feel with everyone and help others feel as good as I do. It is an amazing thing once you have found something this powerful. As a side benefit, P90x has helped me with my injuries which has totally blown my mind. The yoga and the stretching videos have helped with my knees and other injuries to the point where I can comfortable run again. I can’t believe it! I might be able to compete again someday!
